Drop test of steel Vrs timber scaffold boards

The video shows a test carried out by by PCP Gratings, and shows the impact damage when a 100kg load is dropped from 2500mm firstly on metal scaffold and then on standard timer boards, the transoms are at 1200mm centers the results are shocking.
3 points 1)I would agree the metal boards performed better however they are still damaged and need replacing there is a cost involved here
2)not an entirely fair test as there were 4 metal boards and only 2 timber boards- plus scaffolds aren’t generally designed for impact loads- shouldn’t be dropping loads on them
3)there is no flexibility in board sizes 1200 is 1200 and no way to go round a pipe etc ie double transom and notch
Fair point I think its just a demonstration to show that they are stronger I suppose.
Thanks for the comment.
