Builder falls from third floor in south east london in critical condition

A builder was left fighting for his life in hospital after he fell from the roof of a house he was working on in south east London.

A builder took a serious fall and is fighting for his life in hospital after he fell from a house he was working on in Eltham in south east London the victim who was in his 60’s fell from the third floor on 11.25 am on 20/5/2015.

The paramedics were seen treating on the first floor extension for serious injuries at the house in King’s Orchard Eltham the man was  rushed to an east London hospital for intimidate treatment, the man was said to be in a critical condition following the fall.

The response team at London’s Ambulance Service Hazardous Areas confirmed they treated him for his injuries with support from a crew at London’s Air Ambulance.

A Met Police spokesman said officers from Greenwich were sent to investigate the circumstances of the accident.

A spokesman tweeted: “We have treated and safely extracted a patient who has fallen from height in se9 with @LDNairamb“.

He said the (HSE) Health and Safety Executive, has been informed and would follow up on how the man fell from the third floor.

In a statement, he commented: “Police were called by London Ambulance Service at approximately 11.25am today to reports of a man injured at an address in Kings Orchard, Eltham. London’s Air Ambulance also attended and the man, believed aged in his 60s, was taken to an east London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.”

“At this stage, it is believed that man was carrying out building work on the property and received his injuries after falling from a height.

“The Health and Safety Executive will be informed. Enquiries  into the circumstances continue.”
