I have been working for my self and running my own company Complete loft Conversions and carrying out contract work as a site agent, I have over twenty nine years experience in the construction industry.

I have experience in the following areas.

In my current roles I have been working as a site manager on a freelance basis these projects range in value from £1.5 million to £60000 on these projects I would deal with all aspects of site management with a hands on approach.
I also produce and manage quality projects over specific time periods allocating resources to fulfil the final delivery of such projects.
I also hold a current NVQ 6 and Black CSCS managers card Current CSCS and First Aid.
I consider myself to possess the relevant skills to maintain and mange any type of building site, from new build, shop-fitting or period building renovation with a high degree of competency.
I enjoy understanding the full system lifecycle of construction that includes the adaptation, recording and presentation to owner’s, heath and safety, training and support of workforce, evaluating feedback from stakeholders and peers, organising and controlling supplies, final delivery and handover and also considering the benefits of the use of new building technologies and solutions to overcome day to day problems.

I have been working for my own company carrying out loft conversions in and around the Ipswich area the value of these ranges from £37000 to £60000.

Working for Harrison and Wilden

Jan 2019 to September 2019
Working as site manger on a bespoke build costing over £1.5m this build was a timber frame with sanafelt roof with Velfac windows the build involved groundwork’s under floor heating, heat recovery system and many other bespoke features,
This build took a total of 12 months my role was to liaise with all the trades and building professional’s and deal with the day to day heath and safety.

Working for Combination Construction Ltd
May 2007 to December 2008 working onsite as a project manger and in the office Working from an office based environment using my IT skills to coordinate the day to day running of the company my duties included.

Consolidation of IT systems.
Using and understanding all Microsoft applications.

Selecting data inserting data updating data and deleting records.

I enjoyed my time within the company unfortunately due to financial difficulties the company could not keep me on, but I enjoyed learning and applying new skills as well as being part of a good team.

Working for Higgins Homes

Working as site managers assistant from April 2006 to May 2007 I worked for Higgins Homes underneath the contracts manager ensuring his requests were met and contractors were signed in and inducted.
Higgins health and safety procedures were followed and implemented by all site operatives including:

Method statements.
Risk assessments.
C.S.C.S authorisation.
Using Microsoft applications including Projects and SQL
Health and Safety site visits.
Hot works permits.
E.I.C.S Certification.
Data inputting.

This project was carried out on behalf of Wherry Housing Partnership which was government funded, the site was a collection of twenty-nine timber framed houses, terraced, bungalows, detached and semidetached.
This development also incorporated a new road and infrastructure to serve these new dwellings, this was an interesting and rewarding project to be involved in from ground up to completion and handover.
I obtained the following qualifications while working within the Construction Industry on a day release basis.

Freelance project coordinator

From 2004 to 2006 I was working on residential projects ranging from £50,000 to £500,000, which include total renovation of listed buildings, shop fitting, new build and timber framing on a freelance basis.
These clients included Powells Shopfitters, Rose builders, Bedford and Jennings Timber frame engineers, Chignells timber frame buildings and Gluelam Structures.
My overall duties included using drawings to set out and understand the procedures that site operatives need to complete their tasks, making sure that health and safety procedures are carried out correctly in accordance to legislation and updating computer systems where necessary.
Understanding timescales relevant to the schedule of works to be carried out and making sure site operatives are aware of these time restrictions.

Suffolk College to obtain a City in Guilds in Carpentry and Joinery on day release

A full apprenticeship was served with Stamford Leisure ltd from 1994 to 1998.
Duties during this apprenticeship included all types of construction methods with timber and metal, incorporating modern and traditional building techniques to a high standard.
Projects completed during apprenticeship include Shops, Nightclubs, Superstores and general carpentry and joinery.
After completing apprenticeship in 1998 I became self employed and worked for various contractors and builders gaining more experience in carpentry carrying out work on Residential units, Oak framing, Timber framing and listed building refurbishment. Completing these types of projects helped me gain an overall understanding of all the elements of construction in many types of medium until 2002.

Since switching from web development to construction management to, I have adapted to working with a wide and varied range of technologies and professionals. I have expanded my range of skills keeping pace with changes in HSE and building technologies keeping an open mind to new ways of working.
I believe that my project management and interpersonal skills have helped me build upon a sound work ethic. I enjoy using communication, understanding and leaning to be a team player always ready for new challenges within the work place.

Other activity’s

Outside of work I write and produce music for myself and for others, I play the guitar piano and sing, I also enjoy travel including annual snowboarding trips to the Alps, Andorra and Bulgaria.
I also build websites for friends and family and small enterprises using the adobe suite of tools including Photoshop, illustrator, XD, dream weaver, xcode and in design to produce websites.
My other love outside of work is weight training, swimming and running these help me to balance my career and family time.
