This is an exciting opportunity to take a pivotal role in the growth and development of an established Specialist Landscaping company. Working together with colleagues and your team of Contract Managers you will manage the day-to-day operations to create award-winning Podium Roof Landscapes. The company are the “go-to” resource for Contractors and Developers and have a strong forward order book making this the perfect time to become part of their impressive growth. The Job:
You will enjoy overall responsibility for the management, safe delivery and completion of all Landscaping and Podium Roof Contracts, to specification, on time and on budget. Working together with Pre-Construction and Commercial colleagues you will ensure that projects are accurately planned to start on site. Then together with your team of Contracts Managers you will work through to completion and the successful handover to a delighted client. Throughout you will oversee the ongoing planning to ensure that future commitments are fully resourced, the scheduling of labour and materials for current projects together with overseeing all aspects of H&S and the and the financial review of completed work.
* To ensure all sites fully comply with all H&S requirements
* To work closely with internal & external design teams ensuring designs are feasible
* To liaise with the Pre-Construction and Commercial teams ensuring that the project is handed over and understood by the Operational Team
* To ensure the accuracy and feasibility of the programme and site delivery planning
* To work with the Commercial Manager to check CVRs and ensure that projects are running on budget and on time
* Provide accurate CVRs and financial reporting for the Podium Division
* To ensure the allocation of sufficient resources and consistent management to the construction team
* Ensure the competence of staff & subcontractors, and maximising capability & utilisation across the programme areas.
* Liaise with the Company Directors to raise any operational red flags
* Ensure all works are completed in accordance with the specification and any contract variations
* Ensure that any snagging items are dealt with quickly to ensure sign off and handover
* Undertake a post completion review of the company’s financial and quality performance and identify any possible improvements in estimating, delivery and quality.
The Person:
You will have several years’ experience of Landscaping and Podium Roof Installation and be working as a Contracts Manager. You will be proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans and planting diagrams. In addition, you will;
* Have a knowledge of Construction Contracts, Variations and agreements together with an understanding of project risk management.
* Be an effective Team Leader with demonstrable Commercial management experience.
* Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Be financially literate with experience of managing margins in line with budgets
* Have an understanding of the practical, technical, financial and qualitative requirements of a sub-contract project
