Demolition of tower blocks fails twice (Video)

Demolition teams were left red-faced after controlled explosions in Sleaford failed to tear down two tower blocks as planned after the explosion failed then the building came down of its own accord two hours later.
The vacant Churchill House and Montgomery House on Kings Park were due to come down on 24/04/16 the buildings were due to be demolished simultaneously at 10:00 BST.
Residents living nearby were asked to leave their homes, and hundreds of spectators gathered outside the exclusion zone – but despite a loud explosion at just after 11am, the towers remained standing.
People living within the exclusion zone are unable to return to their houses until the remaining tower has fallen.
The explosion produced a huge cloud of dust but little else – and there was confusion at the scene as people waited for the flats to be reduced to rubble.
Residents living in the exclusion zone had been due to return to their homes at 12noon.
A second attempt to bring the remaining buildings down also failed on 25/04/16 and the residents are still unable to return to their homes.
